TIME VS MONEY

Recently when I Dr. Geetanjali Pareek wrote an article on BENEFITS AND TECHNIQUES OF TIME MANAGEMENT  there was a quote in it “Time is Money”, as soon I had finished writing that article my mind was still thinking about it. Is time really money or is it just a phrase? Is time really important? Or what is eventually more important in life Time or Money? I pondered on it for some time and this is eventually what I arrived at.

There are people around us telling about the importance of money in one’s life and how to actually make it big. But, there is no one, to highlight the importance of Time; in one’s life and that how wonderful this gift of time is. The proverb that “time is money” is very much understated. Time is a great deal more than money. If you have time you can obtain money. But reverse is not true i.e. if you have wealth of money, you cannot buy yourself a minute more time than you have.

Great authorities/philosophers have explained space but not time which is the inexplicable raw material of everything. With which everything is possible and without which nothing is possible. Time is truly a daily a miracle. One wakes up in the morning and his/her daily supply/purse is filled with twenty-fours –magically. It is all yours the most precious possession on this earth’s surface. No one can take it away from you i.e. it is unstealable. And no one receives either less or more than you. A wonderful gift from the Universe; with no biases and real democracy.  In the domain of time there is no aristocracy of wealth or the intellect. Geniuses are never rewarded by even an extra hour a day. And there is no punishment for wasting it. You may waste your time as much you want and the supply will not be withheld from you. Universe will not say “This man is fool. He does not deserve it”. It’s actually a payment of income which is not affected by Sundays or any Holiday. Its all yours. Moreover you cannot draw on the future, so no way to get into debts. You can only waste the passing moment. You cannot waste tomorrow or the next hour, it is kept for you.

If one cannot live on a certain income of money than one earns a little more, or makes arrangements for that extra money either by working for it, asking for it etc. But if one cannot arrange his/her 24hrs (a daily supply of money) his/her life is definitely muddled. Though, the supply of time is regular one but definitely a restricted one.

One has to live these twenty four hours of daily time. And during that time one has to study or learn new things, make livelihood, earn respect, have fun or recreation, make health etc… Its right use is utmost importance and urgent and one’s happiness depends elusively on it.

If I happen to ask how many of us; lives on a twenty four hours a day. When I am saying lives it does not mean the mere existence. It means how many of us are free from the uneasy feeling that the day was not properly managed or utilized. How many of you are not haunted by the feeling that the years slip by and slip by and you have not been able to get your life into proper working shape. What I mean is not constantly haunted by the feeling the way we arrange our daily life. The primal cause of that inconvenient dissatisfaction is the feeling that you are every day leaving undone something which you would like to do, and which, indeed you are hoping to do when you have “more time”. Since one already has all the time there is. We never shall have any more time we always had. This realization has led me to the minute practical examination of time-expenditure.

The most important preliminary to the task of arranging one’s life so that one may live fully and comfortably within one’s daily budget of twenty four is the calm realization of the extreme difficulty of the task, of the endless effort which it demands.

The chief beauty about the constant supply of time is that you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day, even the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect as un-spoilt as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment. You can turn on your new leaf every hour if you choose. Therefore no object is served in waiting till next week or even tomorrow.

The difference between the successful and rich and an ordinary person lies in his attitude towards time and its proper utilization of the same. Where the successful person utilizes his twenty four with enthusiasm and zest, there the ordinary person thinks of it as a drudge and wastes his/her this precious gift of twenty four hours.

Anyone could be rich and successful only thing that is required is careful planning of time. Hence in the end I would like to say that TIME IS DEFINITELY MORE POWERFUL AND PRECIOUS THAN MONEY. Focus on utilizing your time properly than worrying of how to make money.
