CAREER IN MEDICINE
Although
a career in medicine may imply many other professions, the one of the
medico/physician/doctor is the most prominent of all. Medical profession is an
evergreen profession, whether it is a period of economic boom or recession;
medical practitioners are always in demand. Medical profession is also one of

Medicine
is the study that deals with identifying, preventing and treating diseases. In
order to be eligible for the MBBS course, students should have passed their
10+2 exams with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English,
individually with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and
Biology/Biotechnology taken together.
MBBS is one course which requires a lot
of patience. The In India, the course takes 5½ years to complete, comprising of
4½ years of classroom study followed by a year of a rotating internship). The
4½ years of class room study is divided into 4 phases. In each phase, there are
semesters. At the end of each phase, exams are held. A phase is generally
referred to as “professional” in MBBS jargon. The third professional is devoted
to monthly clinical work in the wards and departments of the hospital. In all
there are 3 professional examinations, followed by practical and clinical
examinations.

NEET EXAM PATTERN
- NEET Mode of Examination: NEET 2020 will be conducted offline in pen and paper-based mode, candidates will be provided with a rough booklet during the examination and they must mark the code for the test booklet on the OMR sheet. Moreover, NEET applicants can check the official exam pattern elaborated in the article.
- NEET Syllabus: The exam will cover both Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus from Physics, Chemistry and Biolofy of the NCERT curriculum.
- Medium of Question Paper: Candidates can choose to take the exam in any of the following 11 languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Oriya, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Urdu, and Telugu language.
- NEET Marking Scheme: As per NEET 2020 Marking Scheme, test-takers will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer while 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
NEET Exam Duration:
Candidates will get a total of 3 hours to attempt 180 questions.

– Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology)
- The paper will include multiple-choice questions.
- 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- For each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded.
- 45 questions are assigned to Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, each.
The exam includes questions
from Physics, Chemistry and Biology curriculum of class XI and XII.
Both Physics and Chemistry sections have 45 questions each whereas, the Biology
section has 90 questions divided into two sections uniformly i.e. Botany and
Zoology.

NEET 2020 exam will
comprise a total of 180 questions in total with a score range of -180
to 720. The exam will have a total duration of
180 minutes (or 3 hours) and there will be no time restriction to
complete each section.
NEET Marking Scheme
- One correct answer fetches 4 marks and one incorrect answer will cost 1 mark.
- It is not mandatory to attempt all questions.
- There is no negative marking for unattempted questions.
- Once you mark an answer, it is not possible to change it.
- Multiple answers will be considered as an incorrect response and will be negatively marked.
