Environment Day: Words in a World of Waste

Environment Day comes each year on 5th June with slogans and hashtags. This year too it has come with its own theme like any other year. On this day people do not miss the chance of complaining about how our environment has degraded since they were children and some even talk about what government should do to protect the environment. Some agencies or NGOs even start some project to care for environment. Yet oil is wasted, forests shrink, and care feels forgotten.

Everyday you hear people complaining about how our environment has depleted. Some point out that air is toxic, hazardous not fit for living. But still no one actually contributes to improve it. Once the government started odd and even vehicles in Delhi/NCR to solve the pollution and what did people do they bought more vehicles so that they are at ease.

Smoggy skies and urban waste — the silent cost of comfort zones.

Yesterday in the newspaper was the news that how ozone layer has shrinked in different places in Haryana. No one cared, rather people were busy comparing various cities, how their city is better than others. Even ridiculing the more damaged city, instead of sharing the responsibility and moving forward.

Best news was about oil conservation in present times. Government is raising oil prices and even asking for online work to save oil, and next day you see vehicles piling up in hills because of summers and high temperature in plains or just summer vacations if you can’t move out of country you should be at least out of city. I can understand that ones dealing in tourism will offer lucrative deals to keep their business going but what about your own responsibility or your own decision making capabilities.

Silent forests vanish while flames crown hypocrisy.

There had been increasing in temperature during Summers, everyone is talking about global warming and how it could affect climate change, but no one is actually looking into the reason even if they did it takes them out of their own comfort zone. So no one is actually interested in it. When 5g came some people said it is because of 5g that temperature has risen because faster network means shorter wavelength which means more infrastructure and overall increase in heat. But no one wants to leave 5g because it means faster connectivity. Not even students because of their gaming comfort.

Oil spills crown destruction — life suffocates under greed.

Not just in India in one news about 30,000 gallons of fuel spilled on National Mall after event for America’s 250th birthday.

You can find lots of incidence near yourself if you have an eye for care. Earlier you could see all the stars in the night sky, now you see only planets. That too two these days along with pole star.

As such I know it is just a day to show your concern for your mother nature or to show your hypocrisy nothing more. I will even not share how one can help in making their environment better because those who are reading it already know how to do just unable to come out of their own comfort zone.

Plastic flags wave hypocrisy — a world of waste crowned.

Look around your own street — plastic bags fly like flags, drains choke with bottles, and trees are cut for parking. These are not distant headlines; they are daily betrayals. If you cannot care for the ground beneath your feet, hashtags on Environment Day are nothing but noise.

I remember my early videos and articles where raw, imperfect, but real. Today, I feel the same about the environment: raw truths, no glow.

Maybe one blog or video won’t change the world. But writing and speaking are still acts of care. Even if no one listens, the act itself crowns glow.

If you find the article convincing and motivating please 🙏 share with one’s who you think can actually work in this direction.

Thank you “Glow is never zero, Copi is Hero and Lantern is Flame.”
